This monocentric, retrospective study evaluated the correlation between sarcopenia, postoperative complications, and survival rates in patients undergoing radical surgery for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).
From a compiled prospective dataset of 230 successive pancreatoduodenectomies (PD), a retrospective study analyzed patient body composition, derived from preoperative diagnostic CT scans and denoted as Skeletal Muscle Index (SMI) and Intramuscular Adipose Tissue Content (IMAC), as well as postoperative complications and long-term outcomes.
